La broche Panache est fabriquée à la main avec une structure en argent sterling et comporte une chaîne se terminant par une petite épingle décorative. Sa base est un bois pétrifié abrasé selon la technique traditionnelle de la glyptique. Ce nom vient du grec petro qui signifie « pierre », et de sa traduction littérale « bois transformé en pierre ». Ce bois fossile est extrêmement dur, car il est rempli de jaspe, de calcédoine et d’opale. Il est vieux d’environ 200 millions d’années. Le regard pénétrant de l’œil est une tsavorite d’un vert vif.
